Today is the day I finished lettering my Fwendly Fwuit comic! All the speech bubbles and sound effects have been added in. And after one more round of proofreading, it’ll be ready to send to the printers in time for the MCM show at the end of May.
This is the biggest self-published project I’ve ever done, it’s a self-contained comic book, 40 pages long, which doesn’t seem like a lot, but everything has been done by me. The story writing, character designs, pencilling, inking, digitally colours, lettering and finally, preparing the print-ready pdf, sorting bleeds and borders etc.
What a journey! It’s been a year and half, in between day jobs, personal and commercial commissions, I’ve finally completed it!!
This is the 2nd self published project I’ve fully managed the colours for and I’ve taught myself a lot since I started.
I thought I’d share below more on my process of digital colouring as well as inking so you can see how my work is produced ‘behind-the-scenes’. (Click for larger size)
Enjoy!
